ONLINE PATIENT CARE
DrIsOnline.com’s patient portal allows you to get non-urgent healthcare online. Non-urgent care is any routine
check-up, follow-up visit, maintenance or ongoing chronic condition upkeep visit, treatment program reminders, and
any other medical or good health maintenance interaction you might normally have at your doctor's office for a
complaint or condition that is not an emergency. Whether or not you know what your current condition is, you can fill
out a questionnaire your doctor has approved and describe your symptoms, video record a message for your doctor
showing him the condition you are concerned about. The message reaches your doctor in the form of an email alert
which becomes part of your Electronic Medical Record. You will get an acknowledgement that your message has
been sent and a follow-up alert will issue if your message is not replied to within a certain amount of time. Your
doctor reviews your video message, studies the symptom questionnaire, and looks up your personal health record
and EMR before deciding whether or not to diagnose your condition online or ask you to come in for tests, blood
work, or some other physical evidence needed for information about your condition. If you need to schedule a in-person
appointment, your doctor will advise you of this and you can use DrIsOnline's set an appointment/Test
feature to book your appointment immediately, listing your first and second choices for the date and time. If no tests
treatment instructions for your condition and send it back to you straightaway.
Anytime your doctor decides to diagnose your condition online, she will have all these resources available, faster than
she whould if you were in her office in person, and at a click of a button on her BlackBerry. Your electronic medical
records, your personal health record, with all your family medical history and your individual clinical history, your
questionnaire stating yhour reasons for an online visit and answers to detailed symptom questions, your video showing
your recent appearance and demeanor while you explain your symptoms, and any additional comments you felt like
providing. This is as much information as your doctor has available after you have waited several hours in his office,
a clerk has fetched your paper chart and medical records, a nurse has done a preliminary examination and asked you
a few vital questions, another clerk has looked up your insurance records, someone has prepared your bill, and your
doctor has spend on average four to five minutes looking at you and talking to you. Instead, you and your doctor have sjpend at most
to to fifteen minutes of your collective time - and when it was convenient for both of you - to achieve the same result.
